On December 12 and 13, type lovers and lettering enthusiasts will be in for a treat! The team behind Type Kita will be holding the 3rdinstallment of their annual typography exhibit! The previous Type Kita exhibits offered visitors with an incredible showcase of local typographic art pieces, on-the-spot workshops by some of the country’s well-known hand-letterers and calligraphers, and for the bargain hunters, a slew of handmade crafts and printed goods from local entrepreneurs.

The 3rd Type Kita exhibit promises to be even bigger than before, with over 60 participating exhibitors and artists sharing their talent for this event-for-a-cause.
Set during the holiday season, the Type Kita Exhibit will serve as a big Christmas gathering for type enthusiasts around the metro! With live art, demos, art trade and gift giving activities, it’s the perfect holiday feast for type lovers!

With the theme “Pass on the Passion,” the event aims to foster camaraderie and to strengthen the local type community during the Christmas season by focusing on the value of collaboration and sharing! With this event, type-enthusiasts can give back to the community and share their passion to others as well. Proceeds from the event will be for the benefit of PEARLS- a non-profit organization that aims to provide unprivileged kids with Peace, Education, Aspiration, Respect, Love & Smiles.

Activities for the event are as follows:

PASS ON THE PASSION EXHIBIT
For this leg, exhibitors are encouraged to work and collaborate with other artists to share their talent and trade skills as they develop their pieces, strengthening the idea of sharing one’s passion through art.

ART TRADE/ TOOL SWAP
Art Trade Manila will lead an art-exchange activity where artists and guests can bring their works or writing tools and trade it with fellow type-enthusiasts. It’s like a massive exchange gift activity but more fun!
LIVE ART
Some of your favorite local letterers will also be invited to paint on wooden panels as part of the live art exhibit. Glass panels will also serve as a big doodle wall canvas!
INSTAGRAM EXCHANGE
And because the venue will be bigger, Zig Philippines will also be displaying large scale art murals as part of the exhibit.

INSTAGRAM EXCHANGE
Type Kita exhibits are also the best place to build your network with fellow type-geeks! To further promote camaraderie, participants will be given name tags for their IG handles so they can easily follow each other and keep connected even after the event!
GIFT AND CARD DRIVE
One portion of the event will allow guests to write Christmas cards, design covers of blank notebooks and leave behind hand-lettered pieces as part of gift kits for the kids of PROJECT PEARLS.
LIVE DEMOS AND ACTIVITIES
Pass on the passion for type with free demos such as lettering, calligraphy, watercolor lettering and many more! There will also be a scheduled film showing, some live art & for the hoarders, there will also be pop-up shops for tools and type merchandise.

CHRISTMAS POTLUCK
To keep the Christmas spirit alive, they will be holding a simple get-together/Christmas potluck to celebrate the community this holiday season. You may bring food and drinks too if you want to join in the feast!

Join US and collaborate! Remember the following details below!

Getting your child's haircut seems to be hard on both for us parents and definitely our children. Most of the stories i heard our child mostly cry, confuse on what is happening on their surroundings. Sometimes dads and moms also carried away by this gestures. Our little pumpkins don't understand that cutting his hair is not painful and that it grows again. On their mind there's a sharp thing making noise near his face and ears or a tool that feels like it could cut his skin like his hair.

Here I will share some tips and what to do on your babies first hair cut.

We Filipinos have some pamahiin or myths , on babies hair cut should be done when they reach his first year. The elders have been suggesting to shave his hair bald to promote hair growth and make it look thicker. I'm not sure if this old wives' tale is true but I decided not to go thru this bald thing. It was last saturday after Harvey's vaccine Angelo and I decided to give it a try on Cuts 4 Tots Hair Salon , The Block , SM North EDSA.

After checking out the place and asking the rates on the services also with all those toys, kids-friendly atmosphere, we finally decided to start it. There were a lot of kids that time having a haircut.

Tip number 1:
We fed up Harvey before going to the salon, so that in that terms he is in good mood and he have more energy.

Tip number 2:
We let him walk around to the mall first and play all he wants.

Tip number 3:
We talk to him like a big boy, we said to him that he is going to have his hair cut to make him "gwapo" or "pogi". Well I don't know if he really understands that word but he smiles and look for a mirror once we say those words to him and he also makes cute gestures.

Tip number 4:
Make sure that your son/daughter have enough sleep a night before the salon visit.

Harvey is now ready! He sat down to the car which were also their kiddie salon chairs. While he was enjoying his car, the salon staff took a picture for his First Haircut Certificate (her before picture). By the way I availed a complete package worth 592php, that includes a :

  • Kiddie Haircut - 330
  • First Haircut Certificate - 195
  • A Membership card - 67

The membership card is valid for 1 year and to any branch of Cuts 4 Tots. A 10% Discount can be avail on any services that your baby will have.

The staff starts to play a video Mickey mouse and friends and blowing out some bubbles. Well Harvey really loves bubbles that time. He is behave watching the video and pop out the bubbles. I am so proud with my baby boy, he was just sitting still we didn't need any additional staff to assist my baby. One thing he got scared of that noise hair trimmer but the hair dresser stop using it when he notice that Harvey is scared to it.

We're done! No traumatic experience, no crying,no drama at all. Now he can drop all those itchy ears because his hair is now not touching his ears. He is more pogi. By the way the certificate, I will get it after 2 weeks of processing.

I highly recommend Cuts 4 Tots for your child's first hair cut these are there branches:
